Buckingham Browne & Nichols is a day school located in Cambridge for Pre-K to 12 students. Through innovative programs, students enrich their authentic voices and are empowered to fulfill their potential.
Founded in 1974, BB&N has a rich tradition of providing independent-school education. We are a community of engaged learners and compassionate people who embrace the school’s motto: “Honor, Scholarship, Kindness.” Our multicultural student body mirrors the vibrancy and energy of Cambridge and the freedom of the Charles River, which flows through the heart of Boston.
BB&N’s curriculum is active, forward-thinking, and challenging. It is designed to parallel the interests of our students and the world around them. In response to current events and resources, BB&N teachers across all divisions work together to create curricula that provide an integrated experience for students. Outside the classroom, co-curricular opportunities in athletics, the arts, and other areas add important dimensions to students’ learning.
Every child matters. At BB&N, we welcome and nurture students from every culture and background. The diversity of interests, experiences, and perspectives that students bring to BB&N is one of our greatest strengths. Our 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio allows us to develop a relationship with each child and guide them through their academic and personal journey.
