At BB&N, the boys’ soccer program trains and demands every player to be technically and tactically sound. We overlay this with a strong emphasis on developing a cohesive team approach to each practice and game.

Joseph Campbell

Associate Director of Athletics (6-8), Boys Varsity Soccer Head Coach
Coach Campbell begins his first year as the varsity boys coach at BB&N. Prior to BB&N, Campbell was named head coach of the Dean College men’s soccer program in June of 2018. In June 2019, Campbell was elevated to Assistant Athletic Director. Campbell spent 5 seasons at Dean and was named the 2023 Great Northeast Atlantic Conference (GNAC) Coach of the Year. Campbell arrived at Dean following eight seasons at Mount Ida College in Newton, Mass., where he led the Mustangs to seven playoff appearances and was twice named GNAC Coach of the Year (2013, 2015). Prior to his time on the men’s side, Campbell spent eight seasons coaching the Mustang women. In his first three seasons (2000-02), he was named North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Coach of the Year (2001) and guided Mount Ida to three straight NAC championship games, including the league championship in 2001. Overall, he finished as the College’s all-time leader in wins on the women’s side (69) and had student-athletes named to the all-conference team 18 times. Before entering the coaching world, Campbell starred as an undergraduate at Mount Ida in the mid-1990’s when it was still a junior college, earning first-team All-New England accolades in 1993 and 1994..Before joining Mount Ida’s coaching staff in 2000, Campbell served as the assistant men’s soccer coach at Lasell College for three years.He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) “B” national license along with a NSCAA advanced national diploma.

Each year the first team at BB&N has a goal of playing a system of play that emphasizes a hard-nosed mentality, a progressive possession style of play, and inspired creativity in the final third. After posting an impressive record of 11-3-5 in the 2022 season, we are looking forward to the 2023 season.
