BB&N Alumna, Author, and Illustrator Visits Lower School
Vicky Fang ’94 returned to the Lower School campus for the first time since graduating from 6th-grade in 1988 to share her stories and writing process with students in the Morse Building. As an author of sixteen books and counting, Fang was able to lead students through creative exercises that relate to their English curriculum.
Students in grades B-1 could engage with Fang, discussing her inspirations and journey. For example, Fang used to design robots at Google, which inspired her hit series Layla and the Bots. The series follows a young girl and her robot friends as they perform in their band.
Fang then walked students through her process by letting them brainstorm ideas and scenarios related to animals. The older students had the opportunity to create an amusement park for dogs, and the younger students used their imaginations to create a new animal.
Thank you to librarian Lynda Dugas for organizing Vicky Fang’s return to BB&N!
